To publish you electronic book on Journal-Store, email your manuscript to ebooks@journalstone.com as a Microsoft Word attachment. Include your full name, address, phone number, retail price of your manuscript, your social security number, book summary, genre, and the categories under which you’d like to list your book. Please see the How to Publish page for details.
Journal-Store converts books to electronic form as a free service to all authors and publishers who choose our site as a retail outlet.
When you publish though Journal-Store, you automatically agree to our Terms of Service. The process gives Journal-Store the non-exclusive rights to publish and place your ebook for sale. You receive 70 percent of the final retail price for all copies sold through Journal-Store and its distribution channels.
Who can publish with Journal-Store:
You must be the original author and/or control the rights to the book. You can also be the exclusive digital publisher. Works must be original, written by you or an author who has given you exclusive publishing rights. See our How to Publish page for complete details. All books must be at least 15,000 words and cannot be sold elsewhere for less than the amount listed on Journal-Store. Journal-Store’s minimum listing price is $0.99.
Journal-Store accepts only finished, original written works. Drafts and partial works will not be accepted.
Sharing Electronic Books:
Journal-Store licenses books for personal enjoyment only. It is illegal to copy, share, or email books to others. You cannot resell or distribute Journal-Store books. Journal-Store offers sample books and encourages interested parties to read those free offerings.
Rights:
You do not give up your rights to publish with any other entity when you choose to publish through Journal-Store. Journal-Store currently only offers ebooks through its Website.
What cannot be published on Journal-Store:
Journal-Store will not publish public domain works or books that include word-for-word content from public domain or content farm sources. Do not upload content or books that appear elsewhere online authored by others. Doing so will result in the deletion of your submission and forfeiture of your earnings.
International:
To publish on Journal-Store, you must reside in the United States, Canada, or England. Additional international policies will hopefully be forthcoming.
Languages:
Journal-Store exclusively publishes works produced in English. We will not translate books.
Book Pricing:
Authors establish the price for their work. Journal-Store’s minimum price is $0.99, but there is no maximum price. The price you set for Journal-Store cannot be less than the minimum price of set for other Websites or distribution networks.
Will selling books on Journal-Store make me rich?
The digital market is in its infancy, so please manage your expectations. Some authors sell a few books, some never sell any. Your books sales will depend on word-of-mouth and your marketing efforts.

Do I have to give exclusive rights to Journal-Store:
You maintain all rights associated with your book and are free to publish wherever you choose. You give Journal-Store non-exclusive rights to distribute and sell your work.
Samples:
Journal-Store requires all listed books to maintain a free sample. Journal-Store employees determine what the sample will be during the formatting process. The sample is usually within 10 percent to 20 percent of overall content. Sampling drives sales and can connect readers to books of potential interest.

Cost and Fees:
Journal-Store publishes your ebook for free. Journal-Store formats, uploads, and sets up the electronic listing.

How long does this process take:
Journal-Store will format your book within 3 to 10 days of receiving your manuscript. The precise time depends up on how many books are in line ahead of your submission.
DRM:
DRM or Digital Rights Management refers to the methods in which a digital book is copy-protected or limited to being read only on certain devices. Journal-Store does not employ DRM, but it remains illegal for customers to share ebooks with anyone.
Most major online retail establishments do not provide DRM because it cannot guarantee author works will not be reproduced or pirated. As the author, when you list with Journal-Store, you trust the consumer to honor your legal copyright and adhere to all licensing terms.
Copyright:
Authors own the copyright to their works, giving them the authority to allow others to make copies of the manuscript. You have this legal protection simply by publishing a work. No registration of your work is required.
Listing on Journal-Store gives us the non-exclusive right to publish, promote, and distribute your ebook and samples of your ebook. You retain the right to distribute your manuscript with other publishers and/or retailers.
Book Cover Images:
Book cover images should be front cover only and include the title and author’s name. Submit the cover as a separate .jpeg or .jpg file. No other file types will be accepted. Images must be two dimensional and should be roughly 600 pixels by 500 pixels.
Do not imbed it in your Microsoft Word document as Journal-Store does this during the conversion process.
ISBN:
An ISBN number is a unique identifier for your book. Journal-Store does not require you to have an ISBN number, but we highly recommend it. Contact Bowker to obtain an ISBN number. Journal-Store does not provide ISBN numbers for ebooks.
You cannot use the same ISBN number for both the print and electronic versions of your book. Ebooks requires new ISBN numbers, or you can choose to list your book with Journal-Store without one.
Adult Material Policy:
Journal-Store does not prohibit certain materials from being listed on our site. However, Journal-Store is not a site for pornographic distribution. We do not allow books with pornographic imagines, and we do not allow erotica involving minors under any circumstances. We do prohibit racist, homophobic, xenophobic, or other materials that suggests or supports violence against groups.
The author is required to designate works intended for adult audiences only during the publishing process. Journal-Store requires all such books contain warnings at the beginning of the book to alert customers.
Royalties:
Journal-Store pays royalties quarterly – 45 days after the close of each calendar quarter. Royalties are paid out on a quarterly basis, 45 days after the close of each calendar quarter. Accrued royalties must exceed $50.00 USD to receive a paper check. Royalties of at least $10.00 USD will be paid via PayPal.
You will receive an electronic statement of all registered sales within 45 days after the close of each quarter regardless of whether you reach the minimum payout levels.
Journal-Store calculates royalties as 70 percent of the retail price, less any transactional fees. Electronic distribution and/or PayPal generated fees are considered transactional fees. It is possible for these fees to vary per transaction as the minimum fee charged by PayPal is $0.33. For example, one book sold for $0.99 would calculate to $0.99 – $0.33 = $0.66. The 70 percent paid to the author would be $0.46. Journal-Store does not control fees assessed by PayPal.
Privacy Policy:
Journal-Store will not email you, use, or sell your data to anyone at any time. A free monthly newsletter is available for subscription, but we will not automatically add you to the listserv. Journal-Store does not track or note your purchases. Journal-Store only keeps records regarding the pay-out of your royalties.

Credit Cards:
PayPal processes your credit card information. Journal-Store does not see it, use it, or in any way store it. Journal-Store does not capture your credit card information in any way.
Social Security Number:
Under U.S. tax law, Journal-Store must collect the tax identification number for all authors publishing on our site. Journal-Store stores the information securely.
